Google's new Nexus devices

Google’s New York event was cancelled courtesy Hurricane Sandy on 29th October but members from The Verge were allowed to take a little peek at what’s new with their ambitious Nexus project. And it wasn’t just a peek that they got - it was a future of Google’s vision.

Google is going to release two new products on the 13th of November -

  • A Nexus smartphone - LG Google Nexus 4
  • A Nexus tablet - Samsung Google Nexus 10
Both these devices have stunning new features. Here are some details about them ...

Nexus 4
Gorilla Glass 2.0 coating on front and back of the device
An 8 MP Camera
Android Jelly bean 4.2 with new features like lock screen widgets, quick settings, better Google now etc.
Wireless Inductive charging
The hardware of the Nexus 4 has been made by LG and it will ship in the US for $299 without contract!

Nexus 10
It’s a 10’’ tablet made by Samsung
Screen resolution of 2560 x 1600 with an astonishing 300 Pixels per inch. (More than the retina display iPad)
Powered by the Samsung Exenos 5 5250 processor
Android 4.2 Jelly bean with features like Music explorer etc.

In short both Nexus devices pack the maximum punch with low price points. Google’s future is definitely bright. In other news Apple’s iOS chief Scott Forstall was fired from his job. Exodus continues.
